Introduction
Instrumentation and services are available to all researchers, both within and outside the university.
Through the Chicago Biomedical Consortium, investigators from Northwestern University and the University of Chicago receive the same internal rates as UIC users. Researchers from Rush University Medical Center are also eligible for special pricing. All other external users may access services at either an external academic or external non-academic rate, determined by available subsidies and market benchmarks. Detailed rate and pricing information is available in iLab.
Slide scanning is offered as a drop-off service, while the Quanterix Akoya Vectra 3 and Indica Labs Halo Workstations are available for scheduled use.

Evident Slideview VS200
The SLIDEVIEW™ VS200 system is designed to capture a wide variety of samples and stains with multiple magnifications, flexible slide sizes, and up to 10 imaging modes from brightfield to fluorescence. High-resolution imaging of whole slides empowers your lab to unlock more insights from your samples.
Quanterix Akoya PhenoImager HT 2.0
The PhenoImager HT 2.0 provides whole-slide, highly accurate quantitative assessment of diverse immune phenotypes within the TME, capturing both tissue context and spatial distribution at single-cell resolution.
As the premier and most-cited imager for spatial phenotyping, the PhenoImager HT 2.0 is a fast, user-friendly yet powerful whole-slide imaging platform ideally suited to help researchers develop spatial signatures at scale and integrate into high-throughput workflows.
Quanterix Akoya Vectra 3
The Vectra 3 automated quantitative pathology imaging system provides multispectral and automated multi-slide imaging of up to 6 slides to detect and measure weakly expressed and overlapping biomarkers in H&E, IHC or IF intact FFPE tissue sections or TMAs within a familiar digital pathology workflow.
Leica Aperio AT2
The Leica Aperio AT2 is a brightfield digital pathology scanner capable of producing whole‑slide images at 20× or 40× magnification. It accommodates up to 400 slides in its autoloader and can generate eSlides in approximately 60 seconds, with a sustained throughput of about 50 slides per hour at 20×. The system uses a 20×/0.75 NA Plan Apo objective and supports optional Z‑stacking of up to 25 layers. Its design enables automated slide handling and high‑volume scanning for research and clinical workflows.
Indica Labs Halo Workstations
HALO is a quantitative image‑analysis platform from Indica Labs designed for evaluating brightfield and fluorescence digital pathology images. It supports modular analysis workflows, allowing users to select purpose‑built analysis and workflow modules according to their needs. The software can report morphological and multiplexed expression data on a cell‑by‑cell basis across whole‑slide images while maintaining a link between image regions and extracted measurements. HALO includes tools for sorting and filtering large cell‑level datasets, interactive markups for examining spatial relationships, and options for defining custom analysis outputs. It also incorporates pre‑trained deep‑learning models for nuclear and membrane segmentation and can be deployed on local workstations, servers, or cloud environments.
